Kiick Wins Boyd Tinsley Women’s Clay Court Classic

Florida’s Allie Kiick made it a three woman race for the 2015 USTA French Open Wildcard Challenge by beating Dothan, Alabama runner up Katerina Stewart 7-5 6-7(3) 7-5 for the title in the Boyd Tinsley Women’s Clay Court Classic at Charlottesville, Virginia, the second leg of the Pro Circuit Triple Crown that comprises its Wildcard Challenge which determines the American recipient of a main draw wildcard into the French Open at Roland Garros.

Louisa Chirico defeated Stewart in Dothan, and though she withdrew from the 2015 Revolution Technologies Pro Tennis Classic at Indian Harbour Beach, the third tournament in the Wildcard Challenge, re-entered as a qualifying wildcard at the eleventh hour, setting up what should be a great mini-tournament within the tournament between the trio of French Open hopefuls.

May the best young American Rising Star prevail in what should be a great week of competitive matches in Indian Harbour Beach, and congratulations to Allie Kiick for a triumphant week in Charlottesville!
